Hectronic and TWINT Cooperate

With easy2fuel ConSy, Hectronic has created a platform enabling filling station operators to easily implement mobile payment at their stations. Now the family enterprise from Bonndorf cooperates with TWINT, the most popular payment app in Switzerland. The use of easy2fuel ConSy will allow all TWINT app users to directly operate the fuel pumps and carry out the payment process at the connected filling stations with their smartphones.

TWINT AG is the leading mobile payment provider in Switzerland. More than 3.5 m people already use the payment app of the same name in their everyday lives - e.g. at supermarket checkouts or parking ticket machines. So far, however, it had not been possible to directly pay at the filling station with the TWINT app that was introduced all over Switzerland for iPhones and Android smartphones in 2017. The cooperation with the company located in Bern and Zurich and Hectronic will now change this. “With our joint solution mobile payment will be possible at fuel terminals. The customer scans the QR code at the fuel pump with the TWINT app and is then guided through the refuelling process up to the payment”, explains Sven Stottmeier, Head of the Business Unit Digital Solutions at Hectronic.

For the technological implementation TWINT will be connected to easy2fuel ConSy by Hectronic. In this way, the TWINT app can be made applicable at all stations with fuel terminals or checkouts of the enterprise from Bonndorf. Other system integrators can also be connected via the standard API. By the end of this year, the connection to Ratio Elektronik shall be completed, a further big system provider is expected to follow in early 2022.

“It is our goal to simplify the lives of our users. For this purpose, we are constantly on the lookout for strong partners that are champions in their fields. With Hectronic such a partnership could evolve, and very soon pioneering innovations in the simplification of the payment process at filling stations will be available - we are really looking forward to the cooperation”, states Markus Kilb, CEO of TWINT.
